Located in historic Portsmouth, Virginia this self-guided walking tour is one of the signature events of the holiday season in Hampton Roads.
Welcome! The 2011 Olde Towne Candlelight Home Tour features five locations. All will be candlelit and decorated inside and out for the holidays. The purpose will be to show how twenty‑first century‑ families live and celebrate the holidays in eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth century homes.
Dates: Friday, December 9th and Saturday, December 10th
Hours: Tours run continuously between the hours of 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Friday and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Parking: Parking is available at Olde Towne Parking lots located in the 100 block of Court Street, 300 block of Glasgow Street, 600 block of Queen Street, Middle Street Parking Garage and on the streets of Olde Towne.
Tickets: the ticket price is $15.00 and may be purchased in advance at Portsmouth Visitors Center, Wayback Yonder Antiques, Starboards Coffee Kiosk and The 18th Century Merchant (Churchland) During the hours of the tour, tickets may be purchased at the individual homes. All proceeds benefit historic preservation in Portsmouth.
Refreshments: Wassail and ginger cookies will be available for ticket holders at The Hill House, 221 North Street.
