Located in historic Portsmouth, Virginia this self-guided walking tour is one of the signature events of the holiday season in Hampton Roads.
Welcome! The 2009 Olde Towne Candlelight Home Tour features five locations. All will be candlelit and decorated inside and out for the holidays. The purpose will be to show how twenty‑first century‑ families live and celebrate the holidays in eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth century homes.
Dates: Friday, December 11th and Saturday, December 12th
Hours: Tours run continuously between the hours of 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Friday and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Parking: Parking is available at Olde Towne Parking lots located in the 100 block of Court Street, 300 block of Glasgow Street, 600 block of Queen Street, Middle Street Parking Garage and on the streets of Olde Towne.
Tickets: the ticket price is $20.00 and may be purchased in advance at Portsmouth Visitors Center, Wayback Yonder Antiques, and Starboards Coffee Kiosk. During the hours of the tour, tickets may be purchased at the individual homes. All proceeds benefit historic preservation in Portsmouth.
Refreshments: Cider and cookies will be available along the route.
There are many uneven surfaces; wear comfortable shoes. The Olde Towne Foundation is not responsible for accidents occurring on this tour.
